Your ghost stories

New South Wales

Story 1
I was living at my mum’s house in St Clair in Sydney.  I was asleep and my bedroom door was closed as usual.  I was awoken by something ruffling the papers on my desk, as if they were looking for something.  I sat up and saw a black figure about five-feet high at the most.  It darted out of my room (almost leapt).  Whatever it was swung my door shut behind it.  I know this because my umbrella was hanging on the door hand and I heard it swing out and then swing back to hit the door.

I have done some research and I believe this sounds like what is now known as a shadow person.  Still freaks me out to this day.

Lots of things used to happen around that part of St Clair.  I had many friends share similar experiences in the area.

Story 2
The following event happened approx 10 years ago (Early 2000's).

I was driving from Blackheath to Blacktown via the Great Western Hwy, at about 1:30 AM.  It was very heavy fog upon leaving Blackheath.
There was very light drizzle in the air, but it wasn't until I came around the corner, near the town border of Lawson and just up the road from the police station, where I saw a person hitchhiking in the middle of the road.  They were standing on the double lines and I was thinking this guy is asking to get hit!  Being an overly cautious driver I naturally slowed down and it wasn't until I was within six-feet of this idiot that I realised he didn't have a face, hands or any skin tones at all.

I naturally changed my driving habits dropped a few more cogs and bolted the hell out of there!

The description of the hitchhiker:
tall - about 6' 6", dark cloak and wide brimmed hat.

From then on, every other trip I did through there, was nothing west bound, but east bound a feeling of pins and needles flushing through your body from head to toe.

A friend of mine claims he has seen the same hitchhiker in similar conditions!

Story 3
My first story took place in a house I was sharing in Geelong, Victoria with male friends.

It was a cool winters evening around 6.30pm and it was dark outside.  The two guys I was sharing with at the time were out for the evening with their friends and I was alone shaving in the bathroom, before my fiancée (now wife) turned up.  As I was shaving, I heard someone at the front door, which was wooden framed with glass panels, open it with a bunch of keys.  I didn’t flinch, as I assumed it was one of the guys coming home after forgetting something, so continued to shave and heard footsteps coming down the hallway.  As I nearly finished, I heard the footsteps coming to a stop outside the bathroom and when I looked into the mirror to see who was there a female form in an early 1900's dress was outside the door and the young woman looked straight at me.  I turned around and asked whom she was, but the female form moved off fairly quickly.  She was a young woman, full form, but yet I could see through her.  I never saw her again but often felt cold spots, even on warm days and evenings.

The other story is when I was visiting Barwon Park in Winchelsea , Victoria with my wife and two others.  We looked into a child's room on the bed and we could see the outline of two small hands pressing on the nicely made bed, as we walked over to that side of the bed the small hand imprints disappeared.

Story 4
My parents and siblings went to Puffing Billy in Victoria for a day trip 4-5 years ago. They had one of those pictures with the holes cut out for you to pop your head through for a photo.  In the photo I've attached, there is definitely something in the foreground. Mum said there was no one smoking and there wasn’t any kind of smoke around either.

Story 5
One night my wife and I were at Port Arthur on their ghost tour. My analog video camera had two brand new fresh charged batteries. All through the tour the camera would turn itself on and off.  It was doing the most ridiculous things such as zooming in and out by itself etc. (This was before night vision came out, so the shots I did get where grainy but not too bad.)  As we headed into the infamous dissection room, there was a very heavy steel door that suddenly shut in front of us.  I said to my wife, “how rude”.  The girls in front knew we where behind them, as we were the last in the group and had a kerosene lantern.  The girls screamed their heads off.  I had great difficulty in opening the door.  Once in, the door swung freely. It could not have been the wind, as it was a still night and takes a lot of effort to open the door normally.  The girls said to the guide that the door slammed behind them and the guide said that it happens very often.

In one of the still pictures I took off the camera, which is uploaded to the Ghosts TV Facebook page, there is what appears to be a man in a clergy costume and a receding hairline looking up at the camera.  It is very difficult to make it out, but the more you look at it, the more clearly it seems to become.  I can’t say whether I believe it’s a ghost or not, as the graininess is far too high, or perhaps it’s the camera software trying to put an image together, and that was the result.  The camera battery went flat after 10 minutes of use, so I swapped batteries.  They were fully charged, but this one lasted only five minutes. There is also a voice very hard to hear as the tour guide was talking, but it seems to say “I don’t like you doing that” and the camera died. It wasn’t until we left the site that the camera started to work properly and both batteries where fully charged and working.

Story 6
I was living in Innisfail when I experienced what I would call a ghostly encounter. At the time we were living on the ground floor of a block of flats. Late one night, (or early morning as I was watching Good Morning America - they were doing shows from Australia) I was leaning against the couch with my legs stretched out on the floor. The TV was down low (my parent's bedroom joined onto the loungeroom) and I could hear what seemed to be footsteps UNDERNEATH the floor heading towards me. When they got to where I was sitting my breath left my body (kind of like the feeling of going over the drop on a rollercoaster) and the pillow next to my head moved, as if something brushed up against it.  This didn't scare me at all... actually thought it was cool!

Story 7
I attended a youth group with different activities when I was 12-years-old. One day we were at the wave pool.  I was in the pool at the end and suddenly the waves were getting higher and higher.  I was holding onto the rope, as I thought I was going to drown. Water filled my mouth and ears.  Next, I heard the voice of a man say, “let go of the rope”. I did not, as I was scared that I would drown and die. After a few times of being told by someone to let go of the rope I was literally pushed off the rope by an unknown source.  Someone who pushed me off the rope saved me.  I thanked them after I got to safety.

Story 8
We had just moved into a new house and my eldest son would always have nightmares, so we brought him a dream catcher.  The feathers fell off within a couple of days, so we had to buy another.  When the feathers feel off for the forth time, I thought it was just a crappy batch, so did not buy any more.  One night, while watching TV, my son called out to me from upstairs in his bedroom.  I walked in to find him lying on his back staring at the ceiling.  I called his name, but there was no response, so I shook him a little still, but still no response.  I yelled to my husband and looked around to see if he was coming.  Suddenly, I saw a shadow standing at the top of the stairs.  When I said my husbands name the shadow ran straight at me and then straight through me.  I could not see anything for a couple of seconds and felt very cold and scared.  Eventually, my husband came up the stairs grabbed my son and ran down as soon as we were away from his room he said, “Mum did you see him?”  I said, “Who mate?” He said, “The man with the red eyes. He stands behind the door or hides under my bed.  He even sits on my chest sometimes and I can’t move.”
We moved away from that house within days.  My son is now 21.  I even have a photo of a man inside the TV.  I stood in my son’s room years later and took a photo.  There is a man’s face in the TV.  There are always orbs around his photos as well.

Story 9
A ghost warned me about my ex.  Beware!!!

I was 17 when I moved into my boyfriends parents rental house that they previously rented to their daughter.  I heard many stories of activities, but not realising what I was going to experience, as I had never in counted these things before.  At first nothing major happen just the lights turning on.  The stove would turn on and certain music would turn off, but as soon as my best friend moved in it started to worry me.  Scissors were thrown at her, front of floor fans would pop up, even when they where tied, and the fan blade nearly hit her, as she slept.  When she walked past the wardrobe the door would come off it’s hinges and hit her on the head.  I really started to worry for her safety, nothing ever happen to me other than the odd appearance that would give me a fright.  Time went on, then one day I found out that my best friend was with my boyfriend and off course I kicked her out.

Months went by and nothing really happen.  My boyfriend and I sorted our relationship out and of course I took him back.  My boyfriend and I fell asleep in the lounge one night.  I happened to open my eyes and near the hallway I saw a female apparition.  All I could see were white eyes and some form of blanket wrapped around her body. At first I thought it was my other mate that moved in, so I tried calling her name, but nothing was coming out. I felt like I was frozen I couldn't move or speak.  I happen to look at it’s eyes and it would look at me.  Then it looked at my boyfriend, then me, then back at my boy friend.  Finally, it turned and walked up the hallway and as it got closer to the light it faded away.

The next morning I explained to my cousin what happen.  We both thought to approach my neighbour across the road, as they had been living there for along time. I asked them if they new the former owners.  It just so happens that the former owners built the house and the guy’s sister, who was living with them, was sick and then past away at the hospital. I also found out that Tom the owner moved with his wife and was still alive at the time.  Not long after that, I found out my boyfriend was cheating, I started to realise that this ghost was the sister of Tom and that she was looking out for me, so I sat down one day and thanked her and told her where her brother lived and that he was happy and is well.  After that I never saw her again.

I felt so lonely after that, but it felt good knowing that she could be at peace.

Sleep well :-)
